Join the Youth Video Contest for Clean Energy and Sustainable Practices!

We are thrilled to announce a Youth Video Competition in collaboration with Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action (SVYCA), the City of San José, and the Tenacious Group. Highlighting the goals and strategies of the City’s climate action plan, Climate Smart San José, this contest invites middle and high school students to create captivating short videos that educate the community about the importance of clean energy and climate action.
This contest is open to middle and high school students in San José. Individuals who participate will receive free access to media-making classes and equipment rentals offered by CreaTV San José. Moreover, students who get an early start on their videos (send a draft to CreaTV by September 20, 2025) will have the opportunity to engage in personalized video making mentoring sessions with their team and receive feedback and guidance specific to their team’s video. Students who submit after September 20 won’t be able to receive personalized feedback on their videos but are welcome to book mentoring sessions and classes.
The ten best videos will be awarded cash prizes ranging from $250 to $500, and all participants will receive certificates from the City of San José. An awards ceremony and screening of the winning entries will take place in January 2026 at the San José City Hall Council Chambers, open to all participants and members of the public.
