Join Us for the SDI 2025 Screening

Join us for the Summer Documentary Institute (SDI) 2025 screening on Friday, August 2, from 6:00–8:30 PM at CreaTV San José! This special evening will feature three short documentaries created by the 2025 SDI cohort, 8 young South Bay filmmakers ages 14–18 who are working hard to craft powerful, personal, and community-driven films.
Attendees will have the chance to watch these original youth-made documentaries, connect with the filmmakers, and participate in a live Q&A session. Whether you're a long-time supporter or a first-time guest, this is a great opportunity to witness how the media can be used to inspire change and amplify youth voices.
Offered at no cost to participants, SDI is more than a film program. It’s a workforce development experience focused on digital media, technology, and leadership. Designed for underrepresented youth in San José, the program encourages self-expression and community engagement through the lens of storytelling. Each week brings new challenges and growth as students gain technical skills, collaborate creatively, and explore topics they’re passionate about.
The Summer Documentary Institute is a partnership between CreaTV San José and San José Works, with generous support from SVCREATES and The Davidson Family Foundation.
