In these unprecedented and challenging political times, we are reminded daily that narratives are powerful tools that shape our thinking of the world. At CreaTV, we believe that the commercial media and social media don’t often tell the authentic stories of our communities. We believe that when people have the opportunity speak freely through media and tell the stories that make up their reality, we can create healthier and more compassionate communities.
This is why once a year, CreaTV honors those media makers who strive to entertain, inform and shift our perspectives about the world we live in. I’m happy to announce that after taking a year break, our signature event, The Creatives, returns to San Jose in 2018. This one of a kind event celebrates the diverse Community Media makers who tell stories that are rarely heard in the mainstream media and often tell local perspectives that the nightly news miss.
This event will not be your typical banquet awards presentation. Hardly. We want everyone who attends to be the media maker! Throughout the evening, attendees will be invited to participate in the awards media presentation, put themselves live on our channels and much, much more. Keep your eyes open for submission information, sponsorship opportunities and details about the event happening in 2018.
