CreaTV Presents, a monthly series of screenings, workshops, and speakers aimed at bringing the various communities of San Jose together to hear diverse stories and storytellers, and inspire them to tell their own, presents three short stories about the Dreamers.
For our April screening, we’ve partnered with NorCal Public Media to present two short films about DREAMers, undocumented youth brought here as children who have grown up in our country. We will also screen the short documentary Dreamers produced by students at Mt. Pleasant High School, which was a 2018 Creatives finalist. Filmmakers and experts on the subject will also be on hand to help us understand the complexities of telling these stories and why it’s important. The screening is free and open to the public April 3rd from 6-8pm. Register here.
CreaTV Presents is an ongoing monthly series consisting of a screening, community discussion, and workshop focused on a theme. Guest presenters are local media makers, artists, community agitators, and thought leaders who help us unpack and take action on issues that are impacting our community. These events are meant to inspire creativity and build community, and the more folks who join, the more interesting the evening! Snacks and refreshments are provided.
