About CreaTV San Jose:

CreaTV San Jose is a member-based non-profit community media center that manages the public and education cable channels for the City of San Jose. CreaTV offers free airtime and low-cost training and tools that allow San Jose’s diverse and often under-served communities to tell their stories and express their views through video.

In just five years, CreaTV San Jose has become one of the most dynamic non-profit organizations in the valley, growing from a single channel public access station to a network of four cable channels and webcasting at www.creatvsj.org, providing powerful tools to hundreds of nonprofits, training thousands of youth and adults in video production and becoming a recognized thought leader in digital media and community television.

Although CreaTV receives funding for capital expenses such as equipment purchases from cable franchise fees paid by San Jose Cable users, this money cannot be used for operations or community programs. For this reason, CreaTV must raise funds to continue to provide access to digital media training and production to the San Jose community.

CreaTV’s advisory board is a key component to CreaTV’s continued growth and sustainability in the ever-changing digital media and community television landscape.
