CreaTV Presents
Apr 12, 2019
CreaTV Presents is a monthly series of  screenings, workshops, and speakers aimed at bringing the San Jose community together to listen to diverse stories and storytellers, and inspire them to tell their own stories.

Screenings will be from local filmmakers about community issues. Workshops will provide hands-on trainings to help you tell your story. Speakers will promote interactive discussions on relevant topics. We hope to encourage participants to take action by asking questions, interacting with artists, and learning how self-expression through media making can raise awareness of local issues, and build community. CreaTV Presents will also provide opportunities for local content creators to share their work and inspire others to find artistic influences through media arts and creative storytelling.

In the past few months we have had screenings of local filmmakers, such as, Sanjana DeSilva who shared her engaging and thought provoking short films and discussed her experience as a female filmmaker. Workshops from experts like, Media Production Specialist, Jennifer Sitter, who started her own production company, and has created content for San Jose Sharks, Volkswagen, and Santana Row to name a few. Guest speaker McTate Stroman, a poet, spoken-word artist and speaker who has showcase at The World Stage, The Comedy Store, UCLA, and more. He performed some of his work and discussed his craft and the importance of storytelling.

Be sure to check our blog and social media for upcoming events! Admission is free, all are welcome and snacks and refreshments are provided.
