There’s always something going at CreaTV San Jose. Here’s the latest.
San Jose, CA, May 30, 2013 — CreaTV San Jose, one of California’s most dynamic community media centers, is turning five on July 1. In celebration, CreaTV is launching the Raise Your Voice campaign with the debut of San Jose’s first Free Speech Wall, which will visit one location in all ten City Council Districts, beginning June 14 at District Five’s Mexican Heritage Plaza, 1700 Alum Rock Avenue, from 4:00-6:00pm.
Residents of San Jose are invited to raise their voices by expressing their views on the Free Speech Wall and on camera at any of the Wall’s 10 stops in June. The kick-off event on June 14 will feature five 4’ x 8’ wood-framed canvas Free Speech Walls for self-expression.
The celebration culminates on July 1 at the CreaTV birthday bash, which airs LIVE in San Jose on Comcast Channels 15, 27, 28 and 30 from 6:00-9:00pm. The bash is also available via live stream at www.creatvsj.org. The Free Speech Wall will be the set for the live telecast. Read more.
SAN JOSE, March 6, 2013 – CreaTV San Jose today announced the launch of the second cycle of the Media Access Project (MAP) Grant. All elementary, middle and high schools, whether public, private or charter in San Jose, as well as current MAP schools, are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to be outfitted with digital media equipment, computers and software for a two-year period, beginning fall of 2013. MAP Grant applications are due on Friday, April 5, 5pm and the winning schools announced on Monday, April 29. Read more.
San Jose, CA January 5, 2013—On January 5, 2013, more than 450 media makers, community leaders and VIPs walked the red carpet at the California Theatre for CreaTV San Jose’s 2012 CreaTiVe Awards, its third annual signature event honoring excellence in video production.
Winners, from throughout the Bay Area, were announced in ten categories including Citizen Journalist, Educator, Student, Non-Profit, Filmmaker, Business, CreaTV San Jose TV Series, Bay Area Community Access TV Series, CreaTiVe Excellence for Producer, Director, Cinematographer and Editor and the brand new Teen Studio.
