San Jose residents, businesses, organizations and schools can take advantage of the low-cost video production facilities, equipment and media training available at our community media center in downtown San Jose.
We provide all the resources needed to produce a non-commercial video for broadcast on San Jose’s public and education cable channels and CreaTV San Jose’s web channels. Airtime is free.
Because you, the producer, own the rights to your video content, you can use it for marketing on other Web, mobile and broadcast channels.
Not a Do It Yourselfer?
Do you have an idea for a video, but don’t have the time or the patience to hassle with all the production details? The answer is to hire CreaTV San Jose.
CreaTV’s professional, award-winning staff will produce your video in the studio or on location for reasonable rates.
If you want to hire CreaTV to produce your non-commercial video, here’s what you need to do:
- Attend the free Orientation class. Call 408.295-8815 to sign up.
- Become a Member. Sign up at CreaTVsj.org, in person at 255 W. Julian Street, Suite 100, San Jose or by phone at 408.295.8815.
- Take the Producing @ CreaTV class.
- Submit a Project Proposal to the Operations Department for approval.
- Once your Project Proposal is approved, and you have scheduled our crew and facilities with the Operations Manager, you are ready to produce your video.
- Producers must complete their video within four months after submission of their Project Proposal.
- Once completed, submit your video with Compliance and Playback Request forms to the Program Manager. For TV series producers, be sure to attend our Time Slot Lottery for a regular airtime.

Types of CreaTV Programming
Programs that air on CreaTV’s channels are defined as follow:
SPECIAL
A one-time program that is not part of a regular TV series i.e. documentary, narrative film, etc.
SERIES
A collection of weekly or bi-weekly programs with the same title, length and format, which usually features a constant host/presenter.
FILLERS
Any content less than 15 minutes that may be scheduled in-between regularly scheduled programming, at the discretion of the Programming Manager.
